Oklahoma FoxesWelcome to the journals of the Oklahoma foxes. This page collects the accounts and photographs by John Martin of the wild foxes he observed in his suburban neighborhood. |
What are the Oklahoma foxes? Those who monitor the alt.animals.foxes newsgroup will know about the Oklahoma foxes. A member of the newsgroup, John Martin, has been reporting on these foxes. We at Vicki Fox Productions have the pleasure of hosting these accounts and photographs with his permission. From John ...The Oklahoma Foxes are an urbanized family of red fox (Vulpes vulpes), who make their home on the east side of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Their habitat is neatly tucked away between a series of restaurants and stores to the west, and an older residential neighborhood to the east. There is ample water to support them in the form of two small ponds on the property, but their habitat is gradually shrinking nonetheless. I regularly enjoy visiting with friends who live in the area, and will usually assist in feeding the foxes while I'm there. I guess you might say it's a joint effort keeping them fed a wholesome diet. The foxes make their rounds every evening, stopping by the eastern edge of the meadow, in order to check out what we've set out for them. In return, they provide us with relaxing foxwatching sessions, which are highlighted by the occasional photo opportunity. PicturesNOTICE: All photographs are the property (copyright) of John Martin.
