I took this shot of the old dog fox last fall, as he was just beginning to coat out.

In this picture, you can see that he's beginning to grow a little thicker coat. He's not quite ready for winter yet, but November was several weeks away when I shot this.

Here's a shot of him finishing up a treat of chicken chunkies with gravy. I regularly feed him a can or two of high protein dog food as a snack.

Fox eating peanut butter. I wanted the foxes to give me a little more expression. So one day, I baited the area with a jar of creamy peanut butter, just to see what would happen. Sure enough, a male kit walked up, and grabbed a big mouthful. He must have thought it was worth getting all sticky over, because he came back looking for more.

This is the only decent picture I ever took of this little vixen. Somehow, she always seemed to know I was around, and would never present more than a small portion of herself to be photographed. But this day, her attention was riveted on a scolding blue jay, and I made the most of the opportunity.
