Fandom
A fandom is an informal group of people who share a common interest or hobby. Generally, there is no official organization or club. Some fandoms, such as the sci-fi ones, are large and organized. Other fandoms, such as the "furry" fandom, are small and unorganized.
For the longest time, man has given human attributes to animals and things. This is called, to anthropomorphise; to ascribe human form or attributes. Since mammals, animals with fur, are a common subject; the fans of literature, movies, and images involving such have given this genre the name, Funny Animal (from the comics) or Furry (from artwork).
