Liska, the travel puppet
A challenge was issued by our friend, Terry Knight. In early 1997, we sent him a cute, Folkmantis fox puppet. We even helped name her -- MaryFurr. Terry was working in England at the time, but he lives in New Zealand. Long story, but MaryFurr became his travel "buddy" as he would commute from New Zealand to Europe.
When we announced our big European vacation in the Spring 1998, Terry challenged us to take a travel fox. We decided to take a cute, Folkmantis brand fox puppet, too. In our case, we named the fox puppet, Liska. The name references both the vixen of the opera, "The Cunning Little Vixen", and the cartoon vixen, Liska, drawn by friend, Richard Matheson.

Here is Liska trying to read a road sign at Loch Ness, near Inverness, Scotland. Silly Liska! It is hard to read upside-down. |
