Wildlife Resources

There are many associations and organisations devoted to wildlife conservation, protection, and rehabilitation. This is just a partial list of some of these resources.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

National society to promote care and protection of domestic animals (pets) and backward wildlife.

Defenders of Wildlife

Initially created to aid the restoration of the wolf to Yellowstone National Park, Defenders is still best known for wolf conservation. But, its mission extends to protection of North American wildlife in general.

Elsa Conservation Trust

Named after the lioness from the popular book and movie, Born Free. This organization seeks to protect the African lion.

National Parks and Conservation Association

An association that seeks to preserve and educate Americans about the great National Park treasures of North America.

National Wildlife Federation

A broad range conservation and education organization. The publisher of popular wildlife magazines, such as National Wildlife, International Wildlife, and Ranger Rick.

Nature Conservancy

One of my favourite conservation agencies because they take a more direct route. Instead of petition Congress to save lands, The Nature Conservancy uses the contributed money to actually buy the land and set it aside.

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust

A young conservationist society for protection of animals found in Central England.

Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

British equivalent of the ASPCA.

California Dept of Fish and Game

Information about foxes native to California can be found at this site.

Tiger Information Center

A directory to tiger facts and conservation. Meow.

Derbyshire Fox Rescue UK fox rescue and rehabilitation

Features pictures of the rescued foxes. A neat cartoon fox icon. Links to foxy merchandise for sale, too.

Wolf Park

An educational and research facility dedicated to restoration and study of wolves.

Keepers of the Wild

Rehabiliation center for abused lions and tigers.

East Coast Exotic Animal Resuce

Rehabiliation center in Gettysburg, PA supporting more than 40 species.

Other rehabilitation centers may be listed on the Fox Sites or Skunk Sites pages.
